Christian Boll (Managing Partner, Insurance), Dr. Philipp Behrendt (Senior Partner, Legal) and Olaf Lüdemann (Senior Partner, Banking) have founded BOLL BEHRENDT LÜDEMANN Global Insurance & Risk Advisory GmbH based in Hamburg, Germany. Our addressees are banks, investors, family offices, project developers & companies with investment projects all over the world.
All founding partners have over 20 years of international experience in their specialities and an extensive specialist knowledge combined with a global network. Our specialty is Infrastructure & Energy and especially Renewable Energy with a special focus on sustainability, climate change and cyber risks.
Managing Partner
Christian has specialized in providing global insurance due diligence reports for infrastructure & renewable energy projects focussing the financing approval. He has a 20 years-experience previously as Managing Director of one of the leading renewable energy insurance broker in Europe and has started at the world´s largest insurance broker AON plc., London.
His extensive specialist knowledge is based on an insurance expertise in renewable energy of more than 5 GW of assets in development, construction and operation in over 15 countries all over the world – mainly Offshore Wind, Onshore Wind & Solar.
Christian is a well-known and approved insurance expert for global renewable energy projects and for over 10 years working as Lenders Insurance Advisor for international banks, investors & project developers with large, global project portfolios.
He holds a master degree in business administration, a specialized education in global insurance broking and a certified degree as Offshore Wind Expert based on postgraduate studies in Germany.
Senior Partner
Philipp is head of the german and co-head of the international practice group Disputes & Investigations of Taylor Wessing. For more than 15 years he has been advising clients, particularly in the field of renewable energies, in disputes before state courts and arbitration courts in Germany and worldwide.
A particular focus of his work is product liability law. Therefore, he knows exactly the risks that arise in the event of damage. He knows the importance of the right insurance cover and what therefore is important so that sufficient insurance benefits are available even in the event of a claim.
Philipp is a member of various associations for product liability lawyers, such as the Invitation-Only IADC and the DRI, for which he was Chair of the International Committee and Country Chair for Germany as well as a member of the DRI Center for Law and Public Policy. He is recommended by Who is Who Legal as a Global Leader and National Leader as well as by Juve and Legal 500 in product liability law.
Senior Partner
Olaf has specialized in equity, junior debt and senior debt financing of infrastructure and energy projects worldwide with a focus on wind and solar parks for over 20 years. The assessment of the insurance coverage of these projects from the perspective of a project owner and financier as well as the organization of claims settlement have also been part of his area of responsibility for many years.
He has set up equity and junior debt funds with a volume of over EUR 1 billion and has invested in projects in Japan, Australia, UK, Sweden, Norway, Germany, France and the USA, among others. Olaf was responsible for raising and structuring project financing from banks as well as for the asset management of the projects.
Olaf holds a diploma in economics and works as Director/Head of Energy Advisory in the global investment bank Joh. Berenberg, Gossler & Co. KG.
